| Web Server Maintenance .. | 2005-05-27 10:23:30
by: Slave | A quick post to let you all know that our web server will be down, for approximately an hour, starting from 10pm BST tonight ..
This is due to an increased need to reboot the box, so we're having our motherboard, memory and case replaced .. "Just in case".
We're not expecting any longer downtime .. but you never know ;)

The game server is now moved and is up at it's new home at LCHOST.
The new IP for the server is 213.230.209.100
I have launched the public servers again, lets play :)

This means that all of our public servers will be down for a day or two, hopefully the server will be in place on Tuesday.
We have halved the cost of hosting, but it is thanks to everyone who is donating to Savage that has made this possible.
A big thank you to QIX our previous hosts, who have generously taken on the task of physically moving our server, what great service they have provided and we would recommend them to anyone.
Our new host will be LCHOST and I'm sure Savage's future is in good hands on their platform.
Good luck to all the teams for the future.

It's been an interesting year of changes and a number of competitions.
ET saw seasons three and four with BIO and prevail staying the distance in div 1. zero close on the heels and RV now causing some problems in div 1 :P
elltee as chief admin and Vexx on Shoutcast and admin have done a fine job, along with their superb set of admins, unbeatable.
miss has been the head admin of CTFS, again a great job of competition running. A big thank you to all who helped with this competition.
Devastation also happened, thank you to all who helped with this.
A very happy Christmas and new year to everyone :)

by: Slave | Over the last few weeks we've been noticing an increase in the need to reboot one of our web servers and finally the hard drive decided to give up the ghost early today catching us unawares ..
We've had the hard drive changed for a new one and are now in the process of restoring our backups .. I'm sure it won't take too long and apologies for the inconvenience if you attempted to view our web pages this morning ..

by: Slave | Ever thought about jumping out of an airplane without a parachute while 10,000 feet up? Well LJ's not only thought about it but will be actually doing it in May .. !
To raise money for the Red Cross he's going to be taking a Tandem Skydive from 10,000 feet, falling at over 120mph until 5,000 feet when hopefully! the parachute will open and he'll land safely somewhere.
The crux is that he needs to raise £340 to do the jump. If you'd like to make sure he has the funds to make the jump then please support him and ..

| Clan tags during matches | 2003-10-26 15:52:28
by: Hots | Just a quick reminder that clan tags are required when teams are playing matches, irrespective of whether that is yet specified in the rules for that league.
So far it has been understood by all clans to my knowledge, but recent events mean I have to mention that clan tags are not optional.
From the CTFS rules page (This applies to all clans playing in any league)..
Clan tags Players are expected to wear their clan tag and a name which has to be registered on CAPS during matches, anyone not wearing their clan tag WILL be asked to put it on, if the player does not respond or put the tag on that player will be kicked from the server.
Subsequent violations will see the player excluded from his match.

1) Logo must be simple.
2) Logo must be able to be used on things like t-shirts.

by: LJ | Our host decided to do some "necessary" maintenance at 6am this morning GMT.
Network Maintenance
03/20/03 12:01 AM – 6:00 AM CST (UTC –6)
One of our vendors will be performing router maintenance.
You may experience some latency as BGP resets and the routes re-converge.
Some people couldn't get to our "new" box, which is where most of our sites are hosted, because of the routing issues at our host so sorry for any inconvenience caused.

by: Slave | I've just finished updating the Savage Forums to vBulletin version 2.2.9 which is the latest version ..
This has been done for a couple of reasons .. the most important one being that there were a couple of security updates required to protect the safety of the forums and the web server overall. The 2nd reason is so we are ready for version 3 of vBulletin when it is released in the next few months which will add a lot more functionality to the forums.
One of the unwanted side effects of the upgrade has been the loss of quite a few hacks I've added to the Forums over the last year or so .. including the option of passwording private clan forums. Because of this I've closed the clan forums effected for the time being until I'm able to add the password hack back on. I expect to be able to do that within a day or so .. apologises for the inconvenience.

Our web server in the UK which hosts the domains savageclans.com, savagemail.com, savageeuro.com and savagecentral.com is currently down due to an unexpected technical problem ..
We have support looking into it at the moment and hopefully it will be back up later today.
