The Guard Wants You!

Murder is afoot in the streets of the City. Demons, diabolists, and worse wait to prey on the hard working citizens, and only one group stands between them and their nefarious plans. The City Guard. Do you have what it takes to protect the city, follow procedure, and bring these villains in alive for trial?

Welcome to the City Guard Chronicles. The City Guard Chronicles is an anthology of adventures for Savage Worlds set in the fantasy metropolis of The City, originally envisioned by Jan Jetmar.

Each adventure, of which there are three so far, includes a primer on the City. This primer is a barebones sketch, designed so that you can graft it onto any fantasy city in the world you are playing in, whether you game in Golarion, Lankhmar, or your own home brew setting.

Each also comes with setting rules, new edges and hindrances, and archetypes for playing guard-esque characters. But the meat of these products are the adventures.

There are currently three adventures out for the series, with more on their way.

• The Case of the Misguided Lover – Written by Cyril Ronseaux – tells the story of true loves loss and the demons we turn to in times of grief. Can the guard solve the grisly case of a body part snatching murderer before they kill again?
• The Case of the Missing Daughter – Written by Allan Wroe – tells the tale of a cult festering within the heart of the city, a missing counselor’s daughter, and a dark rite threatening the City. Can the guard solve this case before the cults plans come to fruition?
• The Case of the Sirens Song – Written by Don Osborn – tells the tale of the high stress lives of opera singers, how quickly jealousy can consume a person, and how easily seductive the dark arts are. Can the guard solve this case before the suspect wins her fame and disappears?

Each of these investigations are well thought out and give a gamemaster plenty of space to improvise and expand. Plus, they have exquisite flowcharts outlining the investigation for gamemaster use. Check this one out:
